My story

Hey, I'm Jahz, and I'm from right here in Statesboro! I work as a Credentialing Specialist and I'm also a college student, so I know firsthand what it feels like to be figuring things out while life keeps moving. I love thrifting, vintage decor, and lately I've been picking up tennis to stay active and get outside more. Language Arts was my favorite subject in school, and I can help you with reading, homework, college and career prep, and just about anything life throws your way. Back in school I was honestly a class clown who did not always take things seriously, and I learned the hard way that it can slow you down, but I also learned that it is never too late to change. My best advice is simple: do not let other people decide who you are or what you can become. I cannot wait to meet you, and I want you to know that I am a little nervous too, so we are already in this together!

Why I mentor

I mentor because I’ve had to learn a lot through experience rather than guidance. The lessons I’ve gained along the way have given me perspective, and I want to use that to support others on their journey.

Best advice

Don’t let other people decide who you are or what you can become. Stay focused on your goals and remember you don’t have to stay the same just because people are used to who you were.

A win I’m proud of

A small win I am proud of would be making time to be active even when I don’t feel like it.

A note for you

Hey! I understand feeling nervous, it’s just a part of meeting someone new. However, there’s no need to be nervous with me. I am here to meet you where you are, support you, and help you move forward at your own pace. And just so you know, I’m a little nervous to meet you too. I’m really looking forward to get to know you and for us to learn and grow together.

With care, Jahzmere
